Prayer Ministry

Join Our Prayer Team

Every week, people come to Thoughts About God and ask for prayer. Some are facing hard times. Others are beginning a new life of faith in Jesus.

If you have a heart for prayer, you can help. Join our Prayer Team and pray for people who have asked us to stand with them.

Pray.

Why This Ministry Matters

Every Prayer Request Comes From a Real Person

People contact Thoughts About God from many places around the world. They may be facing illness, grief, family problems, money concerns, fear, loneliness, or a hard decision.

Others contact us because they have recently chosen to follow Jesus. As a result, they may need prayer and encouragement as they begin their new journey of faith.

Our Prayer Team helps by bringing these people and their needs before God.

Your Role

The Role Is Simple: Pray

You do not need to be a pastor, counsellor, or Bible teacher. Instead, we are looking for Christians who care about others and are willing to pray.

Pray for God's comfort, wisdom, peace, strength, healing, direction, and help.

Most of all, ask God to be near each person who has trusted us with a prayer request.

How It Works

What Happens Each Week?

Prayer requests come to Thoughts About God through our website. Then our Prayer Coordinator gathers the requests for the Prayer Team.

1. Requests Come In

People visit our website and share what they would like prayer for.

2. We Prepare the List

Our Prayer Coordinator gathers the requests and prepares them for our volunteer team.

3. You Pray

Include the requests in your personal prayer time, daily devotions, or an appropriate prayer group.

When Are Prayer Requests Sent?

Prayer Team members normally receive the prayer list once each week on Wednesday.

Therefore, you can set aside time during the week to pray through the requests in a way that works with your schedule.

New Believers

We Also Pray for People Beginning Their Faith Journey

Some visitors decide to follow Jesus after reading a devotional, article, or story on Thoughts About God.

This is an important time in their lives. For that reason, we also pray that they will grow in faith, find Christian support, and continue walking with God.

Serving Together

What Do We Ask of Prayer Team Members?

Prayer Team members are volunteers. However, the role carries responsibility because people may share very personal needs with us.

We Ask Team Members To:

  • Have a personal faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Make a sincere effort to pray for the requests they receive.
  • Treat every person with care and respect.
  • Keep prayer requests private.
  • Never post, forward, or publicly share prayer requests.
  • Pray without judging the person or their situation.
  • Understand that this is a prayer ministry, not a counselling or crisis service.
Privacy

Prayer Requests Must Stay Private

People may tell us about very personal parts of their lives. Because of this, we take privacy seriously.

Requests are shared with Prayer Team members for one reason: so that someone will pray.

They must not be used for social media, public discussion, personal promotion, fundraising, or any other purpose.

Your Commitment

You Are Not Committing Forever

Life changes. Work, family, health, and other needs can affect the time we have available.

Therefore, if you need to leave the Prayer Team, simply let us know. We can remove your name from the weekly prayer list.

We want this ministry to be a meaningful part of your faith, not a burden.
Before You Join

Each Request to Join Is Personally Reviewed

Joining the Prayer Team is not the same as signing up for a public email newsletter.

Instead, we review each request before adding someone to the team.

This helps us protect the people who trust Thoughts About God with their prayer needs. It also helps us keep the ministry caring, safe, and responsible.

Thank you for considering this ministry. We pray that God will guide you as you decide whether joining the Thoughts About God Prayer Team is right for you.
