God is Faithful

Published on August 29, 2021

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God”   Psalm 145:13b

Do you feel confident today that God is always faithful? That He is exactly who He says He is? Aren’t you glad He doesn’t change His mind or get PMS or forget about His promises? Friends or family may let you down or even betray you. But not God. He is completely faithful throughout our entire life – not only to you, but all His children.

“For I the Lord do not change” (Malachi 3:6).

Do you lack confidence today? The Bible says,

Faithful is he that called you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

He will be your adequacy.

Are you fearful about something? He said,

I hem you in – behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me
(Psalm 139:5).

He is watching over you – behind, in front and overhead.

Are you facing an impossible task? Pray and discuss it with Him.

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

We just have to ask. He will answer.

Have you messed up? Feel guilty?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

He will cleanse you – make you completely pure.

Do you want to be more faithful to those you love? You can. Daily ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and direct you.

But the fruit of the Spirit is…faithfulness” (Galatians 5:22-23).

The Holy Spirit will produce faithfulness in you.

Father, thank You for being faithful. How comforting to know that You never leave us or forsake us. You will provide what we need. You will enable us to be faithful – to You and to others. Thank You! Amen.

When I was in my thirties, I believed in God—was a Christian, was a churchgoer, but I did not know that I was created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. I learned that to experience a full and meaningful life, I needed to yield the control of my life to God (I had never done that), then I could experience His love and power moment by moment. This is the prayer I prayed. You can too!

Dear Father, I need You. I acknowledge that I have been directing my own life and that, as a result, I have sinned against You. I thank You that You have forgiven my sins through Christ’s death on the cross for me. I now invite Christ to again take His place on the throne of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled, and as You promised in Your Word that You would do if I asked in faith. I now thank You for directing my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit.

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, bow in prayer and trust God to fill you with the Holy Spirit right now.
