God’s Guardian Angels Protect and Rescue Us
“For the angel of the Lord guards and rescues all who reverence Him” (Psalm 34:7).
A Journey Through Danger
Over the years, my travels have taken me across continents and into many countries. More than once, I have faced danger. Even so, I had peace in my heart because I knew the Lord was with me. I also believed His guardian angels surrounded me.
On one trip to Pakistan, the nation was in political turmoil. After finishing a series of meetings in Lahore, I headed to the train station. At the time, I had no idea what was about to happen. An angry crowd of thousands was marching toward the station, intending to destroy it with cocktail bombs.
Because the danger was so close, the railway director quickly rushed us onto the train and locked us in our compartments. Then he warned us not to open our doors unless we were absolutely sure who was knocking. Since the journey to Karachi would take more than 24 hours, I used the time to continue rewriting my book Come Help Change the World.
God’s Protection in Pakistan
Later, I changed into my pajamas, climbed into my berth, and began reading and writing. Meanwhile, I knew nothing about the violence behind us. Only after we arrived in Karachi, 28 hours later, did I learn what had really happened.
The train ahead of ours had been burned. In addition, rioting students had stretched themselves across the track and refused to move. When that train ran over them, the mob took revenge. As a result, they burned the train and killed the officials on board.
We were the next train expected to pass through. The mob was ready to do the same to us. However, God went before us, and nothing happened. When we finally arrived in Karachi, martial law had been declared and the streets were calm.
Soon afterward, a Red Cross van took us safely to our hotel. God continued to protect us there as well. Then, when the violence ended, we were able to catch a plane from Karachi to Europe.
God Still Guards Those Who Trust Him
Whether you are on a train, at home, at work, or traveling far away, God is able to guard and rescue those who reverence Him. His care is not limited by place, distance, or circumstance.
Today, you can trust God with your life and rest in His protection. If you have never come to Him personally, you can begin now. Ask Him to forgive your sins, lead your life, and make you the person He wants you to be.

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
