Obeying God

Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.Psalm 27:10

Sarah was heartbroken. She wanted to please her parents.  But she wanted to please God even more.  For years Sarah had prayed about a mission trip in the inner city.  She sensed this was the year.  But her parents were uneasy.  Even still, after much prayer, Sarah committed herself to the project.

The next day her mother read about a girl going on a mission trip.  Ironically, her parents were firmly against it.  Included in the article was a verse from Psalms…  “Though my Father and Mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”

Her parents were convicted, and gladly gave their support.  As a result, that summer, Sarah grew stronger in her walk with God.

Friend, is God asking you to do something challenging or difficult?
Ask Him for direction, then be sure to obey.
