“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding”. Proverbs 3:5 (Amplified)
My husband has always been a gifted leader and has the God given ability to mobilize and motivate a team around him. He recognizes their strengths and helps them work together as a team.
Through the many years of leadership, he has offered leadership and team building seminars for his teams, so they would grow in their leadership and team building skills.
On one occasion, the team was doing outdoor exercises to help strengthen their trust in each other. Later in the day, the instructor asked each of them, in turn, to stand on a table and fall backwards—into the arms of two of his teammates. One member was unable to do it. He could not trust that his team members would catch him.
Trust is an important element in relationships if they are to develop– whether it is marriage, family or career.
The Bible tells us to trust God. To lean and be confident in Him. It also tells us “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” Deuteronomy 33:27 Many times we are afraid to “fall backwards into His arms”. And yet, He loves us, He’s always present, He’s all-powerful and good. Doesn’t make sense, does it?
May the Lord help us to trust Him more.
