Come to Me

Published on February 4, 2017

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28

We get all kinds of invitations to go to this and to that, some of which we accept and many of which we pass over. But the greatest invitation in the history of the world doesn’t come in the mail…. It is in the Bible.

Certainly we live in a weary and burdened world. The pressure of finances, relationship and a face-paced schedule can drag us down. We are all weary and burdened about something.

Jesus invites us to be still in His presence. The more hassled we feel, the more we need communication with Him. He doesn’t want us to be wrapped in anxious knots, ignoring His gift of peace. He wants us to know that He is God and that He will be exalted among the nations,

It is so easy to get caught up in the world and race right by His presence. He is always a prayer away. Only He can give us that peace that passes all understanding.

His peace is an inner treasure that grows within us when we trust Him. In the world around us, it is so easy to miss His invitation. We race from one event or thought to another without taking the time to experience His rest.

When you begin your day, begin it with Him and when you pillow your head at night, thank Him for His daily presence. In between pause to speak His name and seek His presence in all activities and He will give you true rest.

THOUGHT: Will you make a conscious effort to seek Jesus in each and every activity of your life? There is nothing your will experience that will be to the exclusion of His presence. He is there. All you need to do is seek Him.

Lord, I want to experience your presence in my life more each day. Open my eyes that I might seek and see His work in my life, that I might know true rest.
