Step out of the noise……
…. Into the quiet of the presence of the LORD.
“Be still… and know that I AM God.” Psalm 46:10
“My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with Me”. And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming”. Psalm 27:8 (NLT)
Come to the quiet place.
Q.U.I.E.T.
Q – Quit carrying it all.
Unload here all the heavy and light, big and small concerns that leave your heart distracted and flat.
Give everyone and everything to God. Pause and name them one by one as you upload them from your shoulders to His arms -for Him to carry for you.
“Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
U – U-Turn to the Cross.
Lift your eyes off all that swirls around and …. turn to look to the cross and resurrection, from where your victory and strength for today arise.
“…God made you alive with Christ…having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross….” Colossians 2:14 & 15(NIV)
I – invited to His storehouse to receive the treasures of His presence.
All of Jesus Christ is available for all of you … today. Lean in. His presence comes in the quiet as we pour out our hearts to Him. It’s so much more than the list of all we need or want from His hand. It’s taking the time to look into His face and ask for and receive His strength, His wisdom, His love and forgiveness, His peace and patience, His gentleness and self-control.
It’s in the quiet, as we take the time to experience His presence, that He uploads the power available to us through our inheritance as His child.
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be opened so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe.”
Ephesians 1:18,19 (NIV)
E – Exchange every care, and all that your soul carries today, for His peace and rest for your soul.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Team up with me and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28 – 30 (NIV)
THE MESSAGE TRANSLATION says it this way…..
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away
with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28 – 30
T – Thankfulness that His presence goes with you and is in you.
LORD GOD,
Thank you that all of You is available to all of me. You know me better than I know myself. As I look honestly at my day today, and at my life as I look ahead to my tomorrows, I invite You into every decision, every care and every aspect of my days. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit now and may I seek Your wisdom and strength daily, as I put my trust fully in Your loving presence with me.
Thank you for the freedom from fear that You offer me as I lean in to all You are for me and in me. I give You my thanks and pray this in the strong name of Jesus, amen.
“I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4 (NIV)
“God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17
We are only ever one prayer time away from His presence and His peace.
He awaits in the stillness.
“Be still and know that I AM God.” Psalm 46:10
Make time for the Q.U.I.E.T. and know the peace of God.
“The LORD will guide you always.
He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11 (NIV)
