“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even these forget, but I will not forget thee.” Isaiah 49:15
After having a leisurely lunch with Val, our daughter, I went to do a few errands before driving home. Marvin, my husband, had asked me to stop at the jewelers to have his watch bracelet repaired. Because the repair shop was out of the way of my usual pattern of shopping, I was concerned that I might forget.
Several times during my shopping, I prayed, “Lord, please don’t let me forget to drop off Marvin’s watch.” And then He spoke to me. He said, “I am not deaf and I am not like you. I won’t forget.”
Of course! How come I treated Him like a mere human? I didn’t have to keep reminding Him to remind me. He hears instantly —I don’t have to keep asking Him.
How often we put God on a human level. He has all knowledge and can never forget! He is the Almighty God.
Good reminder. Thank God!
Father, you are so great. You don’t forget. You can’t forget because you are God. Cause our finite minds begin to grasp your awesomeness. Amen.
