“We have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 (NKJV)
Our faith needs to focus on the right object in order to see clearly…whenever our faith looks away from God everything becomes a blur. We don’t discover God’s solution by focusing on the problem, we don’t receive His understanding by trying to figure things out, we don’t receive His provision by examining our resources, and we don’t find His next step for us by leaning upon our own understanding.
“Not knowing what to do” means we don’t have what it takes (within ourselves) to do what needs to be done. This is not a defeat for faith, but a victory! It means that faith can go about the business of doing what it is meant to do…putting all its focus upon the Lord!
When the eyes of our faith are upon the Lord we can trust in Him to bring the light we need to take the next step, to give the wisdom we need to make the right decision, to give the strength we need to continue on in our service, to give the courage we need to stand against the enemy, and to bring the victory we need to overcome the world.
“Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness And has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD And rely upon his God.” Isaiah 50:10 (NKJV)
