It’s Christmas time again and all that goes with it, including the traditional drawing of names for the gift exchange with the family.
And I am reminded again of the ultimate gift exchange. Jesus exchanged His life for ours. He gave us a new life. One that is eternal. And in gratitude we should give Him our life. Not the old life. He died for that one. We need to give Him our new life. The one that He can use for His glory.
My prayer for us this week:
“We kneel before you the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We pray that out of your glorious riches you strengthen us with power through your Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And we pray that we, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. In Jesus name, amen.” Ephesians 3:14-19
