‘Knowledge is not wisdom; you may know how to pick a lock, or steal a car, but it would be wiser to do neither.’ (Author unknown)
It is often said that knowledge is the accumulation of information. Wisdom is the proper application of that information.
The Bible tells us:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. Psalm 111:10
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6
The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just. Psalm 37:30
It follows then that knowledge is to know the Lord and wisdom is to speak of the Lord, sowing the Gospel of Jesus and His love.
My prayer for us this week
“Heavenly Father we are so grateful that the wisdom you give us is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Please help us to be wise peacemakers who sow in peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. In Jesus name, Amen.” James 3:17&18
