“How precious it is, Lord, to realize that You are thinking about me constantly.” (Psalm 139:17)
Mark and Caroline arrived at our house just minutes before we were leaving for a conference. They lived in northern Alberta and had driven all night so we could meet our newest granddaughter, Sarah, before we left. We could hardly wait to hold her.
And then they arrived.. I have to admit, even though I gave the adults hugs, I really wanted to hold that little girl. And when she was in my arms, a flood of love washed over me, bonding me to this precious child. I couldn’t take my eyes off her; however, we had to leave – my husband was the director of the organization so we couldn’t stay home. In three days, we would be back and would be able to spend extended time with them.
Something interesting happened to me during the few minutes I held that little girl. I had just met her, and for only a few minutes, but I couldn’t stop thinking about her. She was in my thoughts during the whole trip to the conference and during the whole time I was there. It was amazing!
The Lord brought to mind, the verse, “You are thinking about me constantly,” and I realized that God loves me so much that He is thinking about me all the time. He loves me more than I love that little granddaughter. Could anything be more wonderful than the King of Kings loving YOU that much? I can’t help but say, “Hallelujah!”
A.W.Tozer so aptly said:
An infinite God can give all of Himself to each of His children.
He does not distribute Himself that each may have a part,
but to each one He gives all of Himself as full as if there were no others.
Father, how grateful I am that You are always thinking about and loving Your children. You fill my soul with indescribable joy. Amen.

When I was in my thirties, I believed in God—was a Christian, was a churchgoer, but I did not know that I was created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. I learned that to experience a full and meaningful life, I needed to yield the control of my life to God (I had never done that), then I could experience His love and power moment by moment. This is the prayer I prayed. You can too!
“Dear Father, I need You. I acknowledge that I have been directing my own life and that, as a result, I have sinned against You. I thank You that You have forgiven my sins through Christ’s death on the cross for me. I now invite Christ to again take His place on the throne of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled, and as You promised in Your Word that You would do if I asked in faith. I now thank You for directing my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit.”
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, bow in prayer and trust God to fill you with the Holy Spirit right now.
